Brian Hunter is a qualified and experienced "Senior Authorised Person" for High Voltage electrical networks. Brian was one of the first engineers in the UK to gain the City & Guilds 6037, High Voltage Operational Safety Certificate.
Brian has had responsibility for two seperate private High Voltage networks, at
both The Edrington Group and at The University of Stirling. With both organisations
Brian, in consultation with the HSE, developed an Electrical Safety Policy as well
as training and authorising electrical staff in the safe operation of the High Voltage
network.
At both organisations Brian was also responsible for the upgrade of protection equipment
and cabling. At The Edrington Group this was the installation of additional
SF6 Gas Circuit Breakers. At The University of Stirling this took the form
of a condition survey, performed using partial discharge testing, and the prioritised
upgrade and renewal of 10 Sub Stations and their interconnecting cabling.
